What is OneRoomEarth? +
OneRoomEarth is a peer-to-peer luggage courier marketplace. We connect verified travellers who have spare luggage capacity with people who need to send personal items internationally. It’s not a courier company β€” we’re a platform that facilitates safe, trusted connections between real people.
Which countries do you operate in? +
We currently support routes between Australia, Bangladesh, United Kingdom, United States and Canada β€” in all directions. Our most popular routes are Australia ↔ Bangladesh and UK ↔ Bangladesh.
Is OneRoomEarth legal? +
Yes. Carrying personal items for others on a flight is legal as long as you know what you are carrying, have personally inspected the items, and the items comply with customs regulations in both the departure and destination countries. Travellers must never carry prohibited items, undeclared cash over legal thresholds, or anything they haven’t personally inspected and are comfortable with.
What currency are payments in? +
All payments on OneRoomEarth are in Australian Dollars (AUD). Customers from Bangladesh, UK, USA and Canada pay by credit or debit card β€” Stripe automatically handles the foreign exchange conversion at the time of payment at the current market rate.

What types of items can I send? +
You can send medicines, gifts, clothes, documents, dry food, electronics, cosmetics, baby items, books and toys β€” as long as they comply with customs regulations in both countries and are not on our Prohibited Items list. Always check our Prohibited Items page before booking.
How is my payment protected? +
Your payment is held in secure escrow by Stripe and released in 2 stages: 30% when item handover is confirmed with photos from both parties, and 70% when you confirm delivery. Your money is never released until each stage is verified.
How do I know the traveller is trustworthy? +
Every traveller on OneRoomEarth is verified β€” they must verify their email, phone number, and upload their flight ticket which is matched against their account name by our admin team. Travellers also build a public trust score based on completed deliveries and customer reviews.
When does the traveller get my full address? +
For privacy protection, only the traveller’s suburb is shown publicly. Your full contact details and address are only shared with the traveller after your payment is confirmed. This protects both parties until a booking is committed.
What happens if my item is lost or damaged? +
All disputes are handled by our admin team. We review all available evidence including handover photos, boarding passes, and delivery confirmations before making a decision. Our escrow system means the traveller only receives full payment after confirmed delivery, which protects you.
Can I cancel a booking? +
Yes β€” you can cancel before the handover takes place. If you cancel before handover you receive a 90% refund. If the traveller cancels, you receive a 100% refund. Cancellations after handover are not permitted and will be treated as a dispute.
✈️ For Travellers (Carrying Items)
How much can I earn? +
Earnings depend on the route, weight carried, and your price per kg. On the Australia ↔ Bangladesh route, travellers typically charge AUD $20–35 per kg. Carrying 10kg earns you approximately AUD $180–315 after our 10% platform fee. Many travellers earn AUD $200–500 per trip.
How does traveller verification work? +
To become a verified traveller you need to: verify your email address, verify your phone number with an OTP, and upload your flight ticket. Our admin team manually checks that the name on your flight ticket matches your account name. Verification typically takes 24–48 hours.
Can I refuse to carry an item? +
Absolutely β€” you always have the right to refuse any item you are not comfortable carrying. You should inspect all items carefully at the handover meeting. If something doesn’t look right, smells suspicious, or makes you uncomfortable in any way, refuse it. Your safety comes first.
When do I get paid? +
Payment is released in 2 stages: 30% when handover is confirmed with photos from both parties, and 70% when the customer confirms delivery (or automatically after 72 hours if they don’t respond). Funds typically arrive in your bank within 3–5 business days after each release. You can also optionally upload your boarding pass as proof of travel.
What if the customer doesn’t confirm delivery? +
If the customer does not confirm delivery within 72 hours of you delivering the item, the remaining 70% payment is flagged for admin review and released to you. You don’t need to do anything β€” the system handles it automatically.
Am I responsible for customs declarations? +
Yes β€” as the person carrying the items through customs, you are legally responsible for what is in your luggage. You must declare items correctly and comply with all customs regulations in both countries. Never carry items you haven’t inspected or that you suspect may be prohibited. OneRoomEarth is not responsible for any customs issues arising from items you carry.
